Wilted Flower

They met with force; Two planets colliding

Their intentions passionate

Fireworks evident, sparks fly

No time to wonder why

Mistaking her emotions

She feels alive again

Like a flower waiting to bloom

Deprived thus far of light; denial.

Thirst un-quenched

Fighting for her life, survival

He re-pots her in his garden, under his watchful eye

Lest she bloom under the hand of another

She begins to blossom,

Roots firmly planted

Never thinking she might one day

Be completely abandoned

She allows herself to grow

Enjoying new foliage she shows

He sees only the thorns

Resenting the constant attention

Nurturing turned to scorn

He upturns the pot

Leaving her to rot

Exposed for pillage

Dying in the wreckage

As the elements devour

This wilted flower
